Afan - Day 3 - Margam Park

Afan - Day 3 - Margam Park

Breakfast was always a 2 hour affair with people waking up anytime between 8am and 10am (usually the 3 boys). Luckily, after the stresses of zip lining, today was planned as a more relaxing day at Margam Park and Castle. Oh, and it was another day when the temperature was above 30C.

Romi making is now routine breakfast for everyone

You can never take too many selfies…. although not sure Tarek agrees!

Again, like everything we had seen so far, it was a beautiful park with an amazing castle. We found a nice site next to the lake to call Basecamp and then everyone wondered off to do the various activities. We took the younglings to watch the Pirate Show, which Aarshia described as 'Abbu, this is rubbish’ and so, we promptly left that as Aamirah and Alveena also had similar views! Aafraz was a bit disappointed though! To be honest, it was pretty abysmal.

Luckily the kids' play area more than made up for everything and I ran around keeping on eye on the 3 Gals as they insisted on climbing everything, no matter how high it was. The boys played football and cricket in the park and the ladies chatted and laughed a lot. Aafraz hired out a pedal-powered buggy and the kids went on that.

There are a few walks that one can do in the park and we decided to do the one that took us to the Pulpit View, where the Bro Morgannwg Stone is. It’s a steep climb and I managed to get a few of us to agree to go up… and up…. and up! Alesha needed some help but she made it to the top. I think there were some others in the group who could have done with a lift as well.

Once at the top, we were rewarded with another amazing view of Wales, Devon and Somerset.

Lipa also took the opportunity to cash in my life insurance policy…

Dinner was Sabera’s Lasagne, which Umar graded as ‘really good’!
