Afan Day 7 - Hiking, Biking & Jenga
Afan - Day 7 - Hiking, Biking & Jenga
We deliberately kept Saturday a free day and some people wanted to chillax and others headed out and about. Some of the boys went back to Afan Park, which we visited a day earlier, to have a a go at mountain biking. From all reports, it was an amazing experience! Albeit, it was cut short when Farhan came off his bike but all is well that ends well. He had a few bruises and has a cool story to tell his mates at school!
I think this is the only photo I took of our home for a week! Well done George, you’ve made a lovely place to stay…. but fix the ducting in the main room please!
I went on a hike with the younglings and we found a lovely path along the Afan river, which was lovely. But, the one day I didn’t wear bug repellent was the day I was eaten alive by the mosquitos and midges! I’m still itching like crazy a week later!
In the morning, Aamirah gave Bhai a quick piano lesson. Think he was confused by all the keys.
Romi was supervising his Bhabis…
We had a lovely mini waterfall and play area near the house and a load of us went walking. We dropped of Aafraz and Aydin in the paddling area and the hardcore group went on a hike…. through a wall of mosquitos!
No matter where you are, there’s always time for a photo !
The hardcore children… these 4 were always up for a hike! No complaining just walking, and stopping at every place there was water for a splash!
The not so hardcore adults. These two were always ready to take photos!
We found water!
Quick cooling off session!
Spot the sheep… We have no idea how this sheep got up there!
Dinner was homemade pizza courtesy of Eman’s pizza oven and Bhai made is lovely herb fries. Everything was yum-tastic.
Our last family event of Wales was a family quiz/fight/war, arranged by Sabera. Teams were randomly picked but once drawn, there was always only going to be one winner and that proved to be the case. But we all had ice cream afterwards,. which cooled everyone down nicely. Oh, and Bhai still hasn’t won a game of carrom either. It’s definitely a rigged board!
Pizza, herb fries, salad and garlic bread… sorted!
